SEGA Stars Join Sonic Rumble in Epic First Crossover!

Sonic Rumble may not have officially launched globally yet, but it's already making waves with its exciting Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event, which is live now until May 7th, just before the game's worldwide launch on May 8th, brings together some of the most beloved characters from SEGA's rich gaming history.

Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is playable in over 40 countries. It first rolled out in regions like the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia during pre-launch 1 in Summer 2024. Pre-launch 2 expanded its availability to Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and other regions.

What’s in Store?

If you're fortunate enough to live in one of the regions where Sonic Rumble soft-launched, you can immerse yourself in the SEGA Stars crossover. The event kicks off with a nostalgic nod to Altered Beast, featuring the iconic Werewolf transformation available for free. For fans of the classic beast modes, the Werebear and Weredragon are also up for grabs, though they come with different acquisition methods. The Weredragon is part of the Premium Pass, while the Werebear can be purchased with regular in-game rings.

Adding to the excitement, characters from Fantasy Zone, Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa, have joined the fray. Opa-Opa is included in the Premium Pass, whereas Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments bought with standard rings, each costing 700.

Super Monkey Ball's AiAi and MeeMee are also part of the crossover. To get AiAi, players will need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. For a visual treat of the event, check out the video below.

Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover

Players can earn additional rewards by collecting SEGA logos during matches. While it might seem odd to have an event before the global release, SEGA has reassured fans that most of these pre-release rewards will return later.

This first crossover event showcases Sonic Rumble's potential by blending SEGA's past and present. The sight of monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and powerful were-creatures interacting with Sonic and friends is a testament to the game's promising future.

You can download Sonic Rumble from the Google Play Store now or wait for its official launch in your region on May 8th. Don't miss out on the fun and nostalgia!
