Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Extended 24 Hours Post-PSN Outage

by Penelope Apr 28,2025

Capcom has decided to extend the beta period for Monster Hunter Wilds following a significant outage of the PlayStation Network (PSN), which disrupted gameplay for a full 24 hours. The PSN went offline at approximately 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until 24 hours later. Sony attributed the issue to an "operational problem" and compensated all PlayStation Plus members with an extra five days of service.

The outage prevented players from accessing their games online, including those requiring server authentication or a constant internet connection, which impacted even single-player experiences. Among the affected titles was the highly anticipated second beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, which was scheduled to run from Thursday, February 6 through Sunday, February 9. Due to the disruption, Capcom has now announced a 24-hour extension to the next beta session, shifting the end date from Sunday, February 16 to Monday, February 17. The revised schedule will run from February 13 at 7pm PT / February 14 at 3am GMT to February 17 at 6:59 pm PT / February 18 at 2:59 am GMT.

During this extended period, players will still have the opportunity to earn participation bonuses that will carry over to the full game upon its release. Despite the setback, participants were able to engage with the challenging new adversary, Arkveld, introduced in the Monster Hunter Wilds beta.

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch on February 28, 2025, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
