"Days Gone Remastered: Now with Adjustable Game Speed"

by Elijah Apr 23,2025

Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared exciting details about the accessibility features that will enhance the gameplay experience. In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, the Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, highlighted the new Game Speed feature. This option allows players to adjust the speed of gameplay from 100% down to 75%, 50%, and 25%, aiming to ease the tension for those who find high-pressure situations challenging.

"Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister explained. "Hordes are a pillar in Days Gone gameplay and with our new Horde Assault mode arriving in the remaster, we wanted to make this unique combat experience more accessible to our players."

Beyond the Game Speed feature, Days Gone Remastered will introduce several other accessibility options. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE (Quick Time Event) option, which was previously exclusive to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels from Easy to Survival II.

While these enhancements are set to debut in Days Gone Remastered, Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features like feedback and customization control options will require a compatible controller.

Days Gone Remastered was announced in February, bringing with it not only these accessibility improvements but also an enhanced photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options. The remaster of this beloved 2019 biker-centric, post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game is set to launch on April 25, 2025. For those who already own the PS4 version, an upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition will be available for just $10.
