The Battle of Polytopia Brings a New Game Mode Called Weekly Challenges

The Battle of Polytopia has just rolled out an exciting new feature with the introduction of Weekly Challenges, adding a fresh competitive edge to this beloved 4X strategy game. Let's dive into the details and see how this update can elevate your gaming experience.

It Was Random Before

In the world of The Battle of Polytopia, randomness is a key element, with diverse enemies, resources, and maps keeping players on their toes. However, the new free update brings a structured twist to the gameplay. Every week, players will face the same map, tribe, and identical gameplay conditions, leveling the playing field for all competitors. The challenge? Achieve the highest score possible within 20 turns. You get one attempt per day, capping at seven tries per week.

This new feature allows you to experiment with tribes you might not yet own. The game boasts a total of 16 tribes—four available in the base game and twelve more that can be purchased for $1-4 each. In The Battle of Polytopia Weekly Challenges, everyone competes with the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Make The Battle of Polytopia More Exciting?

Absolutely, the Weekly Challenges are poised to inject a new level of excitement into The Battle of Polytopia. Alongside this feature, a new League system has been introduced. All players start in the Entry League, where your performance each week determines whether you move up, down, or stay put. The top third of players advance to the next league, the bottom third are relegated, and the middle group remains in their current league.

As you progress through the leagues, the difficulty level scales accordingly. In the Entry League, you'll face AI on Easy difficulty, but by the time you reach the Gold League, you're up against Crazy difficulty bots. If you miss a week, you won't be demoted, but your ranking will adjust based on other players' performances.
