by Max Apr 26,2025

In the latest wave of Stephen King adaptations, fans are eagerly anticipating a new take on the classic horror tale, "Cujo." Netflix has announced its plans to produce a fresh film version of King's gripping story, with Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee set to produce. While the project is still in its early stages, with no writers, directors, or cast members attached yet, the excitement among King enthusiasts is palpable.

Originally published in 1981, "Cujo" was swiftly adapted into a cult classic horror film in 1983 by screenwriters Don Carlos Dunaway and Barbara Turner, and directed by Lewis Teague. The narrative centers on a determined mother, portrayed by Dee Wallace, who faces a harrowing ordeal to protect her young son from a rabid dog. After their car breaks down, they find themselves trapped inside, fighting for survival against Cujo, a once-friendly dog turned deadly after being bitten by a rabid bat, as the threat of heatstroke looms.
