Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet promises to deliver a significantly more expansive experience compared to its predecessors, with reports suggesting that the developers drew inspiration from Elden Ring to enhance open-world exploration mechanics. Journalist Ben Hanson has shared insights that the game will be set on a vast single planet, where players will delve into the mysteries of a long-lost civilization and explore a new religion that plays a pivotal role in the narrative. Although the exact alignment with traditional open-world concepts remains ambiguous, it's clear that the studio is steering away from the linear gameplay structures of its past projects.

This upcoming title marks the studio's first foray into a solo player experience, as confirmed by Neil Druckmann. The focus will be on evoking a profound sense of solitude within an uncharted universe while deeply exploring themes of faith and religion. The setting for this journey is the alternate future planet of Sempiria, isolated from the rest of the galaxy for over 600 years, where players will follow the story of bounty hunter Jordan Moon as she fulfills her contract.

Druckmann also highlighted influences from iconic games such as Half-Life 2 and Monkey Island, indicating a potential shift towards a narrative style that encourages players to piece together the story from scattered fragments rather than relying on conventional hints.

Announced at TGA 2024, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has yet to receive a confirmed release date, leaving fans eagerly anticipating further details.
