"New Alien: Earth Trailer Unveils Xenomorph Design, Nods to Ridley Scott's 1979 Classic"
A new trailer for the highly anticipated TV series Alien: Earth has surfaced online, giving fans an exciting glimpse into what's in store. It depicts the harrowing journey of a spaceship crew, devastated by a Xenomorph and on a collision course with Earth.

The trailer showcases a new Xenomorph design while strikingly echoing the aesthetic of Ridley Scott's iconic 1979 horror film, Alien. Set in a MU/TH/UR control room reminiscent of the Nostromo, the scene captures a desperate crew member pleading for help as the Xenomorph wreaks havoc. Morrow, portrayed by Babou Ceesay, seems indifferent to the crew's plight, announcing that the "specimens are loose," declaring the crew dead, and setting the ship's impact point on Earth. The trailer then shifts to six soldiers advancing towards what is likely the crashed ship, hinting at a perilous encounter.
This trailer raises several intriguing questions: Will Morrow survive? What drives his actions? Are there any other survivors, and has anyone been impregnated by the Xenomorph? How will the soldiers meet their fate?
Alien: Earth sets the stage for a gripping narrative, where a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth. A young woman, played by Sydney Chandler, and a group of tactical soldiers make a "fateful discovery" that pits them against Earth's greatest threat.
FX’s *Alien* series is set in the year 2120, fitting neatly between *Prometheus* and the events of the original *Alien* film. This placement within the *Alien* timeline has sparked speculation among fans that *Alien: Earth* might show the Nostromo departing Earth or reveal how Weyland-Yutani Corporation learned about the Xenomorphs. As a point of reference, the recently released interquel *Alien: Romulus* takes place between *Alien* and *Aliens*.Last January, showrunner Noah Hawley discussed his decision to deviate from the backstory established in Prometheus for Alien: Earth. He cited a preference for the "retro-futurism" of the original films. Hawley consulted with Ridley Scott on numerous aspects of the Alien series, including its connections to the prequels, but ultimately chose to move away from the bioweapon narrative in favor of the original films' lore.
Alien: Earth is slated to premiere on Hulu in the summer of 2025. Additionally, Alien: Romulus 2 is also in development.
