The developers at Schell Games, in collaboration with publisher Innersloth, have set the stage for the launch of Among Us 3D. The official announcement came via Among Us 3D's Twitter (X) account on April 16, marking May 6, 2025, as the release date.

Originally known as Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to provide a more expansive experience with its cross-play multiplayer feature. This week, the developers also introduced a new currency called Stardust, which does not expire and offers players greater flexibility in their in-game purchases.

Among Us 3D will introduce a permanent Tag Mode featuring the Infected role, along with native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, new and returning mini-games, and a variety of new cosmetics.

It's important to note that Among Us 3D is a distinct game from the original Among Us VR, which was released in 2022. Cross-play between these two games is not supported. As explained in the FAQs on Schell Games' website, Among Us 3D is designed to deliver a unique and tailored experience specifically for PC players, allowing the developers to continue updating Among Us VR while focusing on the new game.

Wishlist Campaign

Among Us 3D is now up for wishlisting on Steam, accompanied by the launch of the Powered By Wishlists Challenge. This campaign offers fans a chance to unlock in-game rewards by reaching specific wishlist milestones. Here's what's on offer:

• 444,444 Wishlists - Another unique hat to add to your collection.
• 555,555 Wishlists - A surprise cosmetic item.
• 777,777 Wishlists - Exciting and suspiciously new cosmetics.
